A Greek from Agrinio joins the board of directors of Hermès fashion house

The 34-year-old young man from Agrinio has had an impressive career in beauty and fashion, becoming one of the directors of the fashion house Hermès.

Born in Agrinio to a family of pharmacists, Grigoris Pirpilis studied English Philology in Athens and then went abroad. Living in Paris since 2012 but raised in a Greek village, he loved art from an early age and then discovered his unique talent and passion for makeup.

A beauty makeup artist is often referred to as a “makeup genius”. He collaborates with Cindy Crawford, Carla Bruni, Leticia Casta and is now on the board of directors of Hermès Beauty, which has been officially announced. On January 25, 2022, the name of Grigoris Pirpilis becomes “the most viral” in the world of fashion and beauty. The Greek became the new director of Hermès Beauty.

The first reaction, after the announcement of the young man’s entry into office, was: “I feel flattered and excited. It is a haute couture house that embodies beauty in all its forms, thanks to its commitment to craftsmanship and know-how, the house of creation and creativity. It is the beginning of a journey in which every individual can express himself and every form of beauty can be revealed and celebrated. This is a particular vision of beauty that I have loved and supported since I discovered the art of makeup 15 years ago.”

At the age of 23, Grigoris Pirpilis moved to Paris, he became the “ambassador” of Maybelline New York in Greece and Cyprus. Since then, he has been constantly evolving: from 2015 to 2017, he became the first makeup artist to be appointed by the international skin care company Bioderma. In 2018, an offer was made from the cosmetic brand Shiseido in Europe.

Grigoris Pirpilis is inspired by Greece and especially Cycladic architecture and art, he adores Folegandros, his favorite poet Yiannis Ritsos, he favors make-up that “looks natural”.
