Scientists from the UK have established the impact of the pandemic on porn viewing

During the pandemic, quarantine in the UK has increased the number of fans to watch pornography and masturbate.

A study on this topic was conducted by scientists from Bournemouth University, and their opus was published in the journal Sexual Medicine.

A month after the start of the pandemic and the introduction of quarantine, scientists interviewed 565 Britons in the age group from 18 to 32 years. At the same time, a quarter of the respondents admitted that after the lockdown they began to have sex more often.

So far, 19.5% of men and 8.5% of women reported watching porn and using sex toys more during lockdown. A third of those surveyed – women are in the lead here – admitted that they had more sexual fantasies during the lockdowns. At the same time, only 14% of Britons sought to replace sex with watching porn, the rest watched it “out of boredom”.

Specialists in different countries, including in Greece, predicted an increase in the birth rate for nine months after the start of the pandemic. They figured that since this time people will have more sex, then more children will be born.

Statistics of the popular Greek porn site for April 2020.

But as it turned out, they were wrong. Sex may have increased, but this did not affect the demographics in any way. On the contrary, at the moment there is a decrease in the birth rate. However, this indicator has one positive aspect: the number of new cases of infection with sexually transmitted diseases has dropped sharply. True, there are more divorces. The reason is clear – a long stay in one room does not always lead to positive emotions.
