Money forgotten in an ATM found the owner

On Syros, the money left in the ATM was safely returned to the scattered recipient – he publicly thanked the one who found it.

In Ermoupolis on Syros yesterday morning a man found banknotes left in an ATM. Quickly realizing that they belonged to the previous user, he went to the bank branch and handed over the forgotten money.

According to, the savior of the forgetful citizen turned out to be EPS Cyclades judge Yannis Zaranis. The money was safely returned to the owner, Panagiotis Motos, who publicly thanked the referee:

“I had an ATM incident this morning. I withdrew money and forgot to take it back. The next person to use the ATM found the money and deposited it in the bank… A move that is rare these days and I want to publicly thank him from the bottom of my heart. More for HIS ACTION… than money.”
