In Thessaloniki, a foreigner tried to “snatch” a mobile phone from a hardware store, but “compassionate” passers-by decided to take the law into their own hands!
An unprecedented incident took place on Tsimiski Street when a foreigner, most likely of Pakistani origin, tried to steal a smartphone from a mobile gadgets store. However, this was noticed by a passer-by, who first pursued him, and then threw him to the ground and began to beat him.
Other townspeople who were nearby also arrived at the scene. It is still unknown how all this would have ended if the police had not rushed in and “recaptured” the poor thief from the angry crowd.
According to grtimes.gr, police officers of the “emergency response” squad intervened in the case, who arrested the Pakistani, actually saving the townspeople from the fury!
When the law enforcement officers put handcuffs on the thief-loser, he told them … “thank you”!
