The famous strongman died at the age of 75

Famous strongman, multiple winner of freestyle wrestling and powerlifting competitions, winner of countless awards, Georgios Tromaras has died at the age of 75.

Recently, he faced health problems and suffered a stroke. Despite the fact that the doctors fought tirelessly to save his life, the athlete died in the hospital, in the intensive care unit.

Georgios Tromaras, born in 1947 in the small village of Ag. Sofia with a view of Lake Trihonida. From a very early age, the boy showed a penchant for these sports and remarkable strength. In addition to wrestling, he managed to bend thick iron bars, break ship chains, lift cars, unclench springs weighing more than 400 kg with his teeth, and even pull trains.

He was the first to organize powerlifting competitions in Greece.

His childhood was difficult, but the love of sports developed in him the qualities necessary for a real athlete and winner. Georgios Tromaras is the successor of Koutalianos and Samson, and now he himself has become the last known strongman.
