Third dose – or stay at home: going to coffee shops, taverns and other entertainment venues ends on February 1

Vaccination certificate: the trip to coffee shops, taverns and other entertainment venues ends on February 1, if you do not take the 3rd dose of the vaccine.

Those who have not been revaccinated will be considered unvaccinated from February 1, as the vaccination certificate will cease to be valid.
Health Minister Thanos Pleuris’s application for a vaccination certificate becomes effective in less than 10 days. As of February 1st, vaccination certificates expire after seven months.

This means that the validity of the certificate (if vaccinated twice) will be valid for seven months, although this provision does not apply to a European certificate that can be used to travel to Europe.

From February 1, persons who have not been vaccinated or have received only two doses of the vaccine and more than 7 months have passed are prohibited from visiting:

indoor dining areas, nightclubs, theaters, cinemas, museums, conferences, gyms.

They must carry a negative rapid test result in order to enter:

retail stores, outdoor dining areas, hairdressers, workplaces, educational institutions, beauty salons, churches.

According to the Joint Ministerial Decision (Κοινή υπουργική Απόφαση, ΚΥΑ), the following are considered vaccinated:

persons who have passed at least fourteen days after vaccination against coronavirus COVID-19 and have presented a certificate of vaccination with simultaneous identification of the owner, persons who have passed at least fourteen days after vaccination against coronavirus COVID-19 1st dose, who have had the disease with presenting the relevant certificate.

Especially for those who are over the age of sixty and at least seven (7) months have passed since the second dose or, in the case of single-dose vaccines, since the single dose, those who received the booster dose are considered fully vaccinated.

As of February 1, 2022, and without the age limit specified in the previous paragraph, those who have been vaccinated and at least seven (7) months have passed since the second dose or, in the case of single-dose vaccines, after the single dose, are considered fully vaccinated after the introduction booster dose.

The above certificates are displayed either in printed form from the digital platform www.gov.gr, or electronically through the telephone of an individual or through a special application (art. 182 of law 4876/2021 (A 251) after saving them on a mobile device.

The competent worker, owner or legal representative of the respective business, employer or authorized person scans the QR code electronically through a special application (art. 33 of law 4816/2021 (A 118) Covid Free GR) and then verifies the person’s identity card.

Verification can also be carried out by simply displaying the identification data that the citizen has digitally stored in the form of a document on his mobile device (Article 182 of law 4876/2021).

Alternatively, if the above certificates are presented by a foreigner from a third country (outside the European Union), controllers check the certificates presented in paper form (printed) while verifying the identity of the holder.”
