Many immigrants living in Greece know that the country’s migration services have been operating in a slow and incomprehensible mode over the past few years.
Delays in issuing a residence permit, unreasonable refusals to issue it, automatic renewal of expired residence permits – failures and violations in all parameters provided for by migration legislation.
All this was due to the transition of the procedure to obtaining a residence permit electronically, for which a special platform was created applications.migration.gov.gr.
On November 16, 2021, a new electronic procedure for submitting documents for renewing a residence permit was officially announced, which began to work, in fact, from November 17, 2021.
The Ministry of Migration and Refugees, in order to get acquainted with the electronic procedure for renewing a residence permit, has issued a special memo in the form of a picture, on which everything is simple and easy. That is, just open the computer, add documents and press enter.
Indeed, everything is very simple, except for the imperfection of the lists of necessary documents and requirements for them, which entails requests from the immigration service to provide additional documents. As a result, the readiness of a new residence permit may be delayed indefinitely.
The new procedure for electronic renewal of a residence permit in Greece provides for the issuance of two documents after the successful placement of an application:
1) certificate of submission of documents for renewal of residence permit;
2) a report on the application for a residence permit (which displays all the data of the applicant and the documents that were attached to the application).
The well-known μπλε βεβαίωση has now been replaced by a certificate generated by the system after submitting an electronic application.
After the electronic submission of the application and documents for the renewal of the residence permit, the data appears in the system for tracking the status of the residence permit pf.emigrants.ypes.gr/pf/result not immediately, but after a few days or weeks, depending on the immigration office with which the application was submitted.
If the application is accepted for consideration by the immigration service, and all documents are submitted correctly, an invitation for fingerprints is sent to the applicant at the email address indicated in the application. After passing the biometrics, you need to monitor the readiness of the residence permit in 2-3 weeks.
When the system indicates that Η ΑΔΕΙΑ ΕΙΝΑΙ ΕΤΟΙΜΗ – ΜΠΟΡΕΙΤΕ ΝΑ ΤΗΝ ΠΑΡΑΛΑΒΕΤΕ, the number of the new residence permit and its validity period will be visible on the bottom of the screen, which must be rewritten in order to continue on the site portal.immigration.gov.gr fix yourself a rendezvous for obtaining a residence permit.
Note: The electronic rendezvous for obtaining a residence permit is not valid in all regions of Greece.
