The armed robbery took place around 13:00 on Friday at a pastry shop located in the eastern part of Thessaloniki.
According to preliminary information from GRTimes.gr, at noon a man in a hood burst into the store located on Konstantinou Karamanlis Street. The perpetrator allegedly stole some money from the cash register at gunpoint and then fled in an unknown direction.
The police launched a search to arrest the hijacker.
As it became known, the alleged offender was hiding in one of the apartments of a high-rise building located on Gambet Street. When inspecting the dwelling, the criminal’s cell phone was found, which he deliberately left behind. The police were late – the man managed to escape.
The investigation is ongoing.
