19-year-old British-Belgian citizen Zara Rutherford wants to become the youngest woman in the world to make a solo trip around the world in a single-engine plane that landed at Heraklion airport in Crete.
Her arrival in the city of Heraklion was scheduled for Saturday, but weather conditions allowed her to approach the island only on Sunday. As you can see in the pictures from Creta24, she was very happy.
The young traveler was greeted by the manager of the Heraklion airport, Georgios Pliakas, who presented her with flowers and congratulated the girl for her efforts.
Zara took off from Belgium on August 18 in her 300-kilogram carbon-fiber single-engine aircraft with a 100-horsepower engine and headed west.
