New US Ambassador to Greece will be considered on January 12

On January 12, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will consider the candidacy of George Tsunis (Τζορτζ Τσούνη) for the post of US Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic.

The decision committee will meet under the chairmanship of Senator Robert Menendez. The meeting will be conducted with limited physical presence, in accordance with the measures taken by the Senate in connection with the pandemic.

Wikipedia note: George James Zounis is a Greek-American lawyer, businessman, philanthropist, public policy adviser and lobbyist.

Its ties with Greece, active work in the Greek diaspora, understanding of the positions of Greece and Cyprus, solving the hot problems of the Eastern Mediterranean are just some of its comparative advantages. Tsunis’s fate will ultimately depend on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who has the right to ratify the candidacy and bring it to approval. Πρώτο Θέμα
