Viagra saved from … coronavirus

The British nurse spent about a month in a coma after being infected with the coronavirus. Saved her … Viagra.

According to the Daily Mail, a 37-year-old resident of Great Britain, who was in an artificial coma, woke up and began to recover, thanks to the unexpected decision of doctors. They injected her with a drug traditionally used to treat erectile dysfunction in men.

Monica Almeida, herself a nurse, was fully vaccinated but contracted the coronavirus at the end of October. The disease progressed, and in November the woman was put into an artificial coma. For a month and a half she was connected to a ventilator, the chances of getting better were negligible – the woman suffered from asthma. The relatives were prepared for the worst, as the doctors did not give comforting predictions.

Three days before disconnecting from the device, the doctors decided to inject the patient with a large dose of Viagra. And a miracle happened! The patient regained consciousness, came out of a coma and quickly went on the mend. In just a week, her condition has improved significantly.

The doctors claimthat it was Viagra that helped Monica survive – she restored normal blood circulation and the airways opened.
