The residents of Nafplion celebrated the New Year with clinking glasses, enjoying the luxurious illumination of the city and its main attraction – a fortress with a huge Greek flag.
As reported by “Argolic News”, digital sparklers in Town Hall Square (Three Admirals) and a huge Greek flag on Palamidi Hill appeared at the beginning of the new year. Using technology and 3D projection mapping, the municipal authorities, Dimitris Kosturos and his associates, have transformed the city.
Colorful, impressive 3D sparklers were projected onto the façade of the historic building that houses the Nafplion City Hall. And as soon as the countdown timer showed 00:00, the fireworks “lit up” the sky.
The huge Greek flag, which was also digitally displayed on Palamidi Hill, was visible from all parts of the historic city and Argolis, marking the start of the anniversary celebrations. Since 2022 marks 200 years since the liberation of Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece.
