Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the heads of foreign states and governments, including Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2022.
“Despite the difficulties of the pandemic, the two countries have recently done a lot to develop bilateral relations,” Putin said.
“Of particular importance in this regard was the successful start of the Year of History of Russia and Greece under our patronage. It is symbolic that many of the events envisaged by its extensive program were dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the national liberation struggle of the Greek people. Russia has made its contribution to its success, ”the President of Russia stressed.
He noted that the recent talks in Sochi confirmed that Russia and Greece have good prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in various fields, and expressed hope for continued joint efforts.
