New EODY Greece Guidelines on Quarantine for Infected or Affected Covid-19

Greece’s National Health Organization (EODY) released new guidelines on Thursday for people infected with Covid-19 or exposed to the virus from a confirmed case.

Recommendations relate to the time of quarantine and the use of masks for the general population and for medical professionals.

For healthcare workers: If they test positive for the virus, they will have to be quarantined for five days and return to work with or without a negative test if they have no symptoms or have mild symptoms. They will also have to wear a high-protection respiratory mask (N95, KN95 or FFP2).

For medical personnel exposed to the virus: those who have received triple vaccinations will be able to continue their work with the mandatory PCR test on the 3rd day after infection, while those who received only two doses (or one dose of J&J) will be able to continue working … To do this, they need to pass a PCR test on the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th day after contact.

For the general population: Those infected with Covid-19 must be isolated for at least five days, after which, if they have no or mild symptoms (with the exception of fever), they are allowed to leave the house. If the fever persists, they will have to remain in isolation. They will also have to wear a high respiratory protection mask (N95, KN95 or FFP2) or double plain mask for at least five more days.

People who have had contact with a confirmed case and received triple vaccinations will need to wear a high protection respirator (N95, KN95, or FFP2) or double plain mask for 10 days and have a PCR or rapid antigen test on day 5 from the date of infection.

Those who have received only two doses of the shot (or one J&J) should stay at home for five days and avoid contact with other people. On the 5th day, you need to undergo PCR or rapid antigen test. After day 5, they will need to wear a high respiratory protection mask (N95, KN95 or FFP2) or double mask for at least another five days.

For people whose work is “inextricably linked to the functioning of public and vital infrastructure,” a panel of experts advising the government will consider various guidelines on the recommendation of the competent ministries.
