There will be more than 15,000 new infections in the daily coronavirus report today, according to Greek Health Minister Thanos Pleuris.
This is the highest number of infected per day ever recorded in Greece since the beginning of the pandemic. Yesterday, December 27, 9284 cases were registered. At the same time, experts say that 70% of infections in Attica are due to the Omicron mutation.
Mr. Pleuris emphasized that 550,000 tests have been carried out this morning. Among them, 15,000 were positive. This number may increase during the day. On the ERT channel this morning, the Minister of Health noted that a committee of experts will meet again tomorrow to discuss the possible postponement of the announced yesterday new measures at an earlier date. He admits a positive decision on this matter.
