Tax office: who will be struck off the list of debtors

The tax office circular ΑΑΔΕ states that citizens who have debts of up to ten euros to the tax office will be permanently excluded from the list of debtors.

The purpose of the official document ΑΑΔΕ is to write off the debts of thousands of debtors.

Reportedly, these debts should have become overdue by 11/25/2019, but citizens should not have other debts at the time of debt cancellation.

The IRS decided to write off debts of up to ten euros in order to free thousands of taxpayers from the “debtor” stigma.

Now the list of citizens who are in arrears to the state, after “clearing” it, has been significantly reduced.

And the ΑΑΔΕ services now have a clear idea of ​​the amounts that they intend to collect from citizens.

Circular

The circular, signed by Governor Georgios Pitsilis, instructed all competent services to immediately begin to implement the current legislation and write off “negligible” debts.

It is worth noting that according to the parliamentary budget department, at the end of the second quarter of 2021, the total number of taxpayers, who, most likely, owe up to one euro to the tax service, is currently 70,774 people.

Compared to last year, the number of debtors decreased by 351,412 people. This reduction was mainly due to the periodic write-offs of confirmed outstanding debts of legal entities or third parties with receivables to principal of less than one euro.

The write-off led to a sharp decrease in the number of debtors in the category of debt less than one euro, by 313,673 persons per year, while the total number of debtors reached 70,774 persons.
