Last Monday, a 58-year-old monk from Mount Athos went fishing in the Gulf of Siggitiko and went missing.
They have been looking for him for the fifth day in the coastal zone, but so far to no avail. According to APE-MPE, on Friday the Greek Navy found the missing boat and towed it to the port of Daphne. The port authorities of Ierissos, Mount Athos, Ouranoupolis, Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos were informed about the incident.
They all take an active part in the search. The search operation involved two ships and boats of the Greek coast guard, two private boats. All activities are directed by the Coast Guard Joint Search and Rescue Coordination Center (Ε.Κ.Σ.Ε.Δ.).
