UK breaks all records for coronavirus infection

Yesterday, Wednesday, the UK reported 106,122 new cases of coronavirus in 24 hours. Probably this anti-record is associated with the rapid spread of the Omicron mutation.

During the pandemic, 11.6 million Britons have tested positive for coronavirus, 147,573 of them have lost the battle for life, Reuters reported. Over the past day, 140 residents of Great Britain have died from the effects of the coronavirus, 172 deaths were registered the day before. The country is considered one of the hardest hit countries in the world from the Covid-19 pandemic.

In yesterday’s Greece report, EODY reported 5,641 new cases, 665 intubated and 69 new deaths over the past day.

Today, a teleconference will be held between the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis with the ministers, for approval of the proposed a committee of experts on new measures. Among them – a mask on the street and indoors, the use of a mask of increased protection KN-95 in transport and when visiting supermarkets, cancellation of public events, additional passing of express tests for all arriving in Greece – on the 2nd and 4th day. Health Minister Thanos Pleuris is expected to make a statement following the approval of the new measures.
