Individuals and businesses in the new 2022 will face 15 billion euros in debt.
Most of them, frozen during the pandemic, will gradually begin to recover. Therefore, millions of debtors will be forced to start paying off their debts to the state.
The “cocktail” of debts concerns subsidies received by companies during the pandemic, debts to insurance funds and tax authorities, as well as “green” or “red” loans, from which the moratorium will gradually be lifted.
For effective debt recovery, the financial staff of the country’s government is currently considering all available options. In the current circumstances, another extension of their maturity seems difficult as officials point to severe financial deficits and economic collapse caused by the pandemic.
Ministry of Finance officials remind that the possibility of paying off debts under the program 36-72 payments is already in effect, so that debtors will not have to pay off all their debts “at once”. To return the state subsidies granted during a pandemic taxpayers (legal entities), for six months, extended their repayment.
