Thessaloniki offered to vaccinate without an appointment

According to the City of Thessaloniki, “in an effort to improve public protection and prevent the holiday surge of new cases of Covid-19, from Thursday, residents of the city will be offered free vaccines without an appointment.

According to the announcement on Tuesday December 21st, mobile vaccination stations will be installed in Aristotle Square in the city center, from 9:00 to 15:00, and will be vaccinated on a first come, first served basis.

Medics will use the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine and administer any of three doses, depending on where people are in their vaccination program.

Thessaloniki is one of the cities in Greece with the largest number of vaccine opponents. Residents of the “northern capital” have repeatedly gathered for thousands of rallies against forced vaccination and vaccinations in general.

Thessaloniki consistently ranks first in Greece in terms of the number of infected per capita and, accordingly, the number of deaths relative to the total number of residents of the city.
