106-year-old granny vaccinated to “win”

One of the oldest people in Greece, a 106-year-old grandmother, was vaccinated yesterday by a private doctor in Zagora (Pelion).

The long-liver urgently asked to be vaccinated, as her children and grandchildren did, in order to “win the battle for life.”

Ms. Garifallia Woolgari, born on February 3, 1916 in Zagora, was looking forward to the vaccination, but due to her age and constant stay at home, the doctors did not consider it necessary to get vaccinated, since all children and grandchildren were vaccinated. Everyone could visit their grandmother and spend time with her. However, the “old school” woman insisted on vaccination to such an extent that the children could no longer refuse her.

The doctor considered that the state of health of the 106-year-old grandmother allows her to be vaccinated (the old woman does not have chronic serious illnesses or any health problems at all).

The long-liver told her children that, having survived so many wars and hardships, now she wants to win one more battle – with the deadly virus “if it attacks.”

The grandmother constantly watched the news and knew how the virus was transmitted, and therefore decided to be vaccinated on an equal basis with her household members. The home vaccination was reportedly successful.
