The government decided to increase subsidies for electricity and natural gas bills under the burden of ever-increasing tariffs in the energy market.
It is reported that the government subsidy for December electricity bills will be increased from 39 euros per month for the first 300 kilowatt-hours to 48 euros per month. The subsidy will be funded by the Energy Transition Fund, which receives proceeds from auctions to sell emission rights.
The State Gas Corporation (DEPA) announced the start of a 16% discount on natural gas, slightly higher than the originally announced 15%, which equates to € 11 per megawatt hour in October and € 15 per megawatt hour in November. December discount will be bigger.
From Monday, December 20, DEPA Commercial will lend to transmission companies for October and November, and then they will retroactively apply the discount to domestic customers.
The government is planning more consumer support measures in the first quarter of next year, although the scope of these measures will be determined by various external factors.
