The new free PANICosGR mobile app allows users in need of assistance to simply press the red button to send an automatic message to the default emergency contact.
“It is designed to support women who are sexually harassed, people who really need it and whose life hangs in the balance,” said Christ Apostolou, creator of the app, which is available for free on the Google Play store, in the comments on Katimerini.
The app uses SMS messages to automatically send a notification to the selected emergency contact with the location of the sender.
In this case, the sound recording from the mobile will be activated for one minute. “I thought it could be used as evidence,” explains Apostolow.
