South Korea: “Omicron” found in the possession of a Russian citizen who arrived in the country

The first case of importation of the omicron strain from Russia was registered in South Korea, The Hankyoreh reported yesterday, December 12.

In the southern province of Cheonan, there are now 15 citizens with a confirmed new strain of coronavirus. Among them are 4 foreigners – a Russian, a British and two from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

In total, 90 cases of Omicron have already been registered in South Korea, 67 people have become infected within the country, the newspaper reports. News

They were identified in Attica in Greek patients living in South Africa who traveled in Greece before the country imposed strict restrictions on November 16. And a Greek from Johannesburg, who arrived in Crete directly from South Africa on November 26, was found positive result for coronavirus on November 29.
