At least 4 people have died in the city of Ravanusa, Sicily, in an explosion in a 4-story residential building.
The search for missing persons continues. According to local media reports, the two women were rescued from the rubble by detecting a mobile phone signal. An eyewitness to the incident, a local resident, says:
“I am grateful to the rescuers who work non-stop for 12 hours. There are still people under the rubble. Let’s hope that they will all be found alive.”
Three buildings located next to the collapsed house were also destroyed, four more were damaged. Preliminary evidence suggests a gas leak has occurred.
