A 17-year-old schoolgirl was horrified on the 040 bus in Kallithea when she was sexually harassed by a 50-year-old inadequate man.
The incident took place on Thursday afternoon, December 9th. When the girl got on the bus, she felt a 50-year-old passenger staring at her. The girl was annoyed and left the seat. Then she got into the back of the bus next to the window and put the bag on her feet.
The man followed her, walked over and sat down next to her, while his hands were covered with clothes. According to the girl, she suddenly felt the touch of his genitals on her thigh. At first she thought what she had imagined, since she had a purse on her lap, but glancing down, she was numb with horror: the masturbator was rubbing against her.
The shocked girl screamed, the driver stopped the bus and, not understanding what was the matter, opened the doors. At this point, the perpetrator tried to escape, but to no avail, as the other passengers managed to grab him. The girl then called her mother and the citizens alerted the police. An immediate response squad arrived at the scene and arrested the 50-year-old Nigerian and took him to the Kallithea police station.
Shortly thereafter, the girl, accompanied by her mother, went to the department, where she demanded criminal prosecution. A 50-year-old man has been prosecuted for sexual abuse and will be tried as caught red-handed in the act.
