A 44-year-old Greek Cypriot was arrested for attempting to hang a Greek flag at the Ataturk monument in occupied Famagusta. He was charged with “indecent behavior”.
Turkish media outlets such as ensonhaber.com report on the prevention of “provocative actions”. The police handcuffed the man after complaints from citizens and took him to the department. Seeing the reaction of eyewitnesses to his intentions, the Greek Cypriot left the flag and drove away in his car, but fell into the hands of law enforcement officers.
A lawsuit will be filed against him on charges of “improper actions and behavior”, his “provocative actions” were broadcast by the Cypriot website sigmalive.com. The Greek Cypriot will appear before the “court” to issue a detention order.
