During the meeting, the Russian president expressed gratitude to the Greek prime minister for the recognition of Russian certificates of vaccination with Sputnik V and hope for further successful cooperation in the field of tourism. Putin’s words are quoted by the Russian news agency Regnum:
“We agreed with the Prime Minister to support the development of tourism, taking into account the historical sights of Greece, its cultural monuments. Also, the resorts are very popular among Russian citizens. We are grateful to the Greek authorities for the decision to recognize the Russian certificates of vaccination for Sputnik V. It is very important that in Greece and in Russia great importance is attached to the preservation of the rich historical heritage, to care for the objects of history and culture that are important for our countries ”.

Both countries plan to promote joint package tours to organize combined travel arrangements. The Kremlin’s website has published a joint action plan for the next 3 years, 2022-2024, which states:
“The parties agreed to strive to develop and promote joint package tours for organizing combined trips to Russia and Greece, which will be addressed to distant tourist markets, as well as for the implementation of the Silk Road tourism program of the World Tourism Organization.”
