Amendment of the Ministry of Health shortens the validity of a certificate of illness

Carrots and sticks in the fight against coronavirus: an amendment by the Greek Ministry of Health reduces the duration of a certificate of a past illness and regulates an emergency benefit for doctors.

A certificate of the transferred coronavirus will be valid for three months (90 days) instead of the current six. The amendment was put to a vote on the recommendation of the experts. Citizens unvaccinated for medical reasons are excluded from the provisions.

The amendment also contains the conditions for receiving emergency assistance by medical workers, which was announced by the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis. To receive the full amount of the grant, an employee must work in the healthcare sector from January 1 to November 30, 2021. In the case of a shortened period, an allowance is assigned in accordance with the days worked.
