48-hour Greek sailors strike: ferries and ships docked December 10-11

Ferries and ships will remain docked as Greek sailors’ federation PNO announced a 48-hour strike on December 10-11, 2021. The strike will affect all categories of ships.

It will start at 12:01 am on Friday, December 10th and end at midnight on Saturday, December 11th, 2021.

According to a statement released by the Pan-Hellenic Federation of Seafarers (PNO), seafarers are demanding higher wages in collective bargaining agreements for 2020-2021 and a solution to problems related to social security, pensions, education, unemployment, undeclared work and many others.

The union accuses employers of “ignoring” and refusing to improve their “disadvantage” or offer seafarers a real increase in wages.

If you are planning to travel by ferry or boat on these two days, please contact your local port authorities and travel agents.
