Murder in Laconia: husband strangled wife out of jealousy

Last night, a 40-year-old man in Laconia strangled his 36-year-old wife in the heat of an argument, believing that she had cheated on him. There were two children in the house.

According to the police, which was called by the killer himself, a resident of the village of Vlahoti in the municipality of Eurotas (Lakonia) began to sort things out with his wife shortly before midnight on Sunday. After committing the crime, he himself dialed “100” and said that he had killed his wife.

Upon arriving at the call, the police found a lifeless woman who was sent to the EKAB ambulance to the hospital. The doctors could only state the death of the victim. The killer was arrested.

As reported notospress.gr, the murder took place during a violent quarrel between the spouses, an Albanian couple. It has not yet been officially confirmed that two of their children were present, boys 11 and 9 years old. Initial information speaks of jealousy as the main cause of the crime.
