Daddy in Lesbos without a mask infected everyone with … courage?

The behavior of Pope Francis, who visited the Immigrant Reception Center in Lesvos on Sunday morning, impressed, thus setting the tone once again with regard to the nature of his visits to Cyprus and Greece.

In the recent past, the Pope has repeatedly advocated the use of a face shield when needed, indoors and outdoors. However, during the current visit, Pope Francis moved around among the immigrants in the camp, talking with adults and children, without wearing a protective mask.

It is known, of course, that Pope Francis was vaccinated and that all this activity was open, but nevertheless there were many people who commented on his brave behavior. There were some who negatively commented on this action, that is, that the Catholic high priest does not wear a protective mask.

It is noted that during a live broadcast of ERT with the island during the Pope’s visit, we saw that the President of Greece, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, took off her mask to say hello. The same “miracle” happened to the Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Notis Mitarakis.

Pope Francis is visiting Lesvos for the 3rd time, which has become world famous thanks to migration flows and dramatic situations of migrants and refugees.

According to the Pope’s timetable, he flew from Mytilene to Athens at 12:15 pm on Sunday. Then, at 4:45 pm, a Catholic Divine Liturgy was held in the Athens Concert Hall.

PS I wonder if the absence of a mask from the president and the pontiff will affect the mask regime, or is it all just for the elite?
