The DIAS police teams couldn’t believe what they found at Theotokopoulos Park in the center of Heraklion, Crete.
While patrolling the park, they suddenly heard children crying. Looking around, they did not see the child and began to look for where the voice was coming from.
Having scanned the area, again nothing suspicious was found. The crying then subsided, then continued. As a result, a cardboard box was found in which a frightened 3-4-year-old girl was sitting. The child was in a terrible state, cold and hungry.
The police immediately took the baby in their arms, trying to calm her down, and rushed to the kiosk for chocolate and juice, informing the competent authority about the unexpected find.
In the course of operational activities, a family was found who abandoned the child in a cardboard box. These are parents with many children, a 28-year-old father uses drugs, leads a marginal lifestyle.
The man was arrested for leaving a minor and endangering her life.
