New Government Measures Against COVID-19 May Be Taken This Week

New measures against the spread of coronavirus for unvaccinated residents of Greece are proposed by experts and could be taken from Saturday. Possible:

“Blocking” of hairdressing salons – entrance only for vaccinated; Click-to-buy retail goods (electronic only) express tests in supermarkets; double mask on transport, but not cloth, but FFP or N95.

The government is leaving open for now, as reported eretikos.gr, the ability to close supermarkets for the unvaccinated without a rapid test. Government spokesman Yiannis Oikonomou says:

“If the committee considers it appropriate and useful, you will see it.”

This proposal is supported by some scientists, and, if adopted, unvaccinated citizens will only be able to visit pharmacies without testing. The measures will be discussed during this week and may take effect from Saturday.

Each time the measures taken are announced as “last”. For example “final decision” adopted on November 2, against the backdrop of a shocking EODY report on coronavirus aggression in the last 24 hours: 6,700 new cases, 59 deaths, 434 patients on intubation. There are over 1,100 new infections in Attica and Thessaloniki. A day earlier, infectious disease specialists discussed the situation and presented their proposals to the government.

As 22 days passed, the news bulletins became even more frightening. On Friday, November 19, Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced the next new measureswhich entered into force on November 22, that is, the day before yesterday:

From Monday, adult unvaccinated citizens cannot enter enclosed spaces (except for catering establishments, even those with a negative test. These include museums, gyms, theaters and cinemas. To attend church services, unvaccinated parishioners must have a fresh test for coronavirus. and in the circular of the Holy Synod. The period of validity of the certificate of vaccination for vaccinated persons over 60 years of age is set at 7 months from the date of issue. To extend it, the third dose must be inoculated within the seventh month after the main vaccination. The decision was made on the basis of expert approval of the gradual reduction of protection after the first two vaccinations A staggered work schedule is introduced in the public and private sectors in order to relieve public transport at certain times. Er-Minister, in the national battle there are no “suckers” and “smart people”, and everyone must act decisively – the government, local government, professional associations. Further strengthening of the national health system is of paramount importance. Private intensive care units are already in use. The services of private doctors are in demand where there is increased pressure. Basically, there is a recruitment of specialists for positions that remain vacant due to the removal of unvaccinated medical workers.
