Unemployment is declining: data for 10 months of the current year

The management of the information system “ERGANI” today provided information on the scale and structure of general unemployment in Greece for 10 months of the current year, from January to October.

The employment rate was negative in October 2021, according to the Ministry of Labor.

During the last month, the number of applications for employment was 230,174, and for resignations – 300,222 (97,272 voluntary redundancies and 202,950 cases of termination or expiration of contracts with limited duration). The figure for September was negative at 70,048 jobs.

In 10 months, from January to October, the number of job applications was 1,999,631, and the number of layoffs reached 1,784,822 (978,813 terminations of contracts with indefinite duration or expiration of contracts with a limited duration and 806,009 voluntary layoffs ).

Thus, for ten months of 2021, the data on employment exceeded the indicator on unemployment, i.e. 214,809 people were employed.
