The Minister of Energy and Environment clarified that the subsidy will be provided in the next DEI account (εκκαθαριστικό), which consumers will receive.
The next electricity bills, which consumers will receive from the end of November, will include a subsidy, Kostas Skrekas said.
In the program of the ANT1 channel, the minister reiterated that it will amount to 300 kW per month:
9 euros in September, 19 euros in October, 39 euros each in November and December.
The adjustment provision, according to which consumers with an average consumption of 300 kW per month will have to pay, will be 45 euros, with a government subsidy covering most of the costs.
At the same time, Kostas Skrekas assured that if energy prices continue to rise, the government will continue to subsidize consumers.
He explained, however, that it is impossible to cover the entire amount of consumer fees. It was announced that part of the fees for those households that consume more than 300 kW per month will be covered by DEI, while other electricity suppliers are likely to do the same.
In addition, the minister announced that in the coming days there will be a 5-digit emergency number, which can be used by vulnerable households in the event of a power outage due to debt, in order to immediately restore the connection.
