When applying for a Greek visa through the Global Visa Center in the Russian capital, you should be ready to pay for the delivery of the finished document to your home.
Russian tourists are making plans for New Year’s holidays in warm countries. The introduction of home delivery of a ready-made entry permit to Greece was perceived by some as a comfortable service, while others complain about additional costs. As always, the main reason for dissatisfaction is the lack of independent choice. An announcement appeared on the website of the Visa Application Center:
“Attention! In order to exclude a repeated visit to the Greek Computing Center in Moscow, obtaining passports for individual applicants is possible only through courier delivery. “
However, the Global Visa Center explained the introduction of the innovation by the presence of actual reasons – this procedure was established due to the rampant COVID-19 pandemic. In order to minimize face-to-face visits and contacts between clients and employees, a ready-made passport delivery service was introduced. Its cost is 10.75 euros, payment in rubles in advance, when submitting documents.
Georgy Mokhov, founder of the Persona Grata legal agency, says that the innovation should not be viewed as the imposition of additional paid services:
“Consular services and organizations that are in consular jurisdiction have the right to independently establish the procedure for processing and issuing visas. They, as a rule, are guided by the requirements of the consulate and safety considerations, in this case – sanitary. It is difficult to dispute their actions ”.
