Restrictions to avoid overcrowding and to combat the spread of coronavirus indoors are returning to supermarkets in Greece and grocery stores on Saturday 13 November 2021.
From Saturday, fewer people will be allowed to be in supermarkets at the same time, as the rule returns the 1 person per 9 sqm rate, which was canceled on October 25 and replaced by the 1 person per 2 sqm rule.
The idea of demanding a negative rapid test result from unvaccinated citizens was abandoned due to the sharp reaction of the population.
We will remind, earlier on Friday, the Minister of Development Adonis Georgiadis said that the possibility of entry of unvaccinated citizens into supermarkets using an express test is being discussedbut there are problems with its implementation.
“Of course, [вопрос] is being studied, but there are problems. We also talked about this at a meeting in the Prime Minister’s office. There are some of our fellow citizens who do not even want to take a rapid test, and we cannot deprive them of access to basic goods, ”said Minister Georgiadis, adding to the problem the endless queues that will form during peak hours at the entrance to shops.
