Changes to metro and tram routes on weekends due to the marathon

Due to the Athens Marathon and technical works, on Saturday and Sunday, November 13 and 14, changes will be made to the movement of the metro and trams.

According to STASY, the Nikaia station on line 3 of the metro will be closed next weekend due to maintenance work on the extension of the line to Piraeus. The connection between the stations “Nicaea” and “Koridallos” will take place via the additional bus route number 900.

Trams will run until the “Fix” stop from 2:00 pm on Saturday, 11/13/21 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, 11/14/21 in connection with the 38th Athens Classic Marathon (Αυθεντικού Μαραθωνίου Αθηνών).

On Sunday, from 8 am to 10 am, tram routes will be operated with a final stop at the Medea Mikalis station, due to the technical work of the ΔΕΔΔΗΕ power grids.

Recall that the Athens Marathon is held on the second Sunday of November, but in order not to be mistaken with the dates, it always makes sense to check them on the organizers’ official website: http://www.athensclassicmarathon.org.

The second option is to find out for sure when the Athens Marathon is taking place, and to clarify other organizational issues, you can also at the City Hall of the Greek capital by calling: +30 210 3722001.
