The amount of the government subsidy, which will automatically apply to November electricity bills for all consumers, will be agreed within a week.
Following a statement from the Minister of the Environment Kostas Skrekas, the new increase in the subsidy in electricity bills for households is expected to take effect immediately, according to the bill, and concerns consumption in November.
It should be noted that for the first 300 kWh the subsidy was € 9 in September, € 18 in October, and now, in November, it has been increased to over € 20.
According to competent sources, the amount will be obtained either from the surplus of ΕΛΑΠΕ (payment invoice for green energy producers), which exceeds 150 million euros, or by increasing the authorized capital of DEI in the amount of 100 million euros. Note that in November the situation on the electricity market will be revised to form a subsidy for December consumption.
As a reminder, to date, the measures that have already been announced and entered into force include a subsidy for low voltage currents (households and businesses) of 60 euros per megawatt-hour for consumption of up to 300 kilowatt-hours per month. For beneficiaries of the social home tariff, the subsidy is 80 euros per megawatt hour or 24 euros per month.
