Shooting incident pushed for police reform

The operations center with an emergency line of 100 will receive 20 additional personnel, and all patrol officers will be equipped with chest cameras.

The plan for their receipt has already been implemented since March this year, when the next police violent incident in the metropolitan area of ​​Nea Smyrni prompted Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to announce the measure.

In April, the project was allocated 9.5 million euros for the purchase of 2,000 cameras ***, but the exact number, however, “can be changed depending on the needs of the police.”
