The coronavirus detected in him took a severe course, causing pneumonia and bronchiolitis, an acute viral infection of the lower respiratory tract that affects children under 24 months of age and is characterized by respiratory distress, wheezing and / or crepitus in the lungs.
According to the Open TV channel, the child is not intubated, but doctors consider his condition to be serious. The mother of the baby, also infected with the coronavirus and undergoing appropriate treatment, is also in the hospital. The child was initially admitted to AHEPA, but then transferred to the Hippocrates Hospital in Thessaloniki, where there is a specialized pediatric ward.
The entire large family is not vaccinated, and all tested positive for coronavirus. A father and four other children with milder COVID-19 are at home.
