The chef of the hotel in Hurghada, where the Russians were poisoned, was detained

Among the tourists who poisoned themselves at a hotel in Hurghada and were hospitalized are 29 Russians, 14 Estonians and four Czechs. The incident is being investigated by the Egyptian Attorney General.

As reported RIA News, the staff of the AMC Royal hotel, after mass poisoning guests were detained, including the chef, according to a press release from the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Interviewed other hotel guests who ate the same food, but feel good, and the doctors of the hospital where the victims are being treated. The message says:

“Interrogated by the Prosecutor General’s Office, the chef, the assistant director of the hotel for food and drinks, who is responsible for quality at the hotel, deny the accusations against them. As a result, the Prosecutor General’s Office detained them and instructed the police to conduct an investigation.”

Abdel Fattah al-Assy, Assistant Minister of Tourism, said that the AMC Royal Hotel is closed indefinitely until it meets all criteria for operation. The hotel director was suspended for 3 months. According to the Federation of Tourist Chambers:

“The prosecutor’s office has already launched an investigation into the AMC Royal hotel, which is also known as the At-Tayarin hotel. For non-compliance with sanitary safety requirements for food, drinks and services provided, the hotel faces not only large financial fines, but also full closure with revocation of the license. “
