There are mass arrests of citizens and the country’s leadership, reports Vesti.ru… Four ministers were detained, including information, finance and industry, as well as Muhammad al-Faki, a civilian representative of the country’s Sovereign Council. Earlier, Sudanese Industry Minister Ibrahim al-Sheikh reported on the storming of his home.
As reported by the TV channel “Russia 24”, communication interruptions began. Entrances to the capital Khartoum are closed. People take to the streets at the call of supporters of the opposition Force for Freedom and Change, protesting against the coup. They chant slogans and burn tires.
A month ago, another failed coup attempt was averted in Sudan, behind which, according to a member of the ruling civil-military council, Mohammed al-Fiki Suliman, were soldiers of the armored corps. The current one coincided with the visit of the US special envoy to Sudan.
