Alec Baldwin’s first comment on the emergency on set

Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin first commented on the tragedy after the shots during the filming of Rust.

He said that he was very worried about what had happened and worked closely with the law enforcement agencies. On his Instagram account, the actor wrote:

“There are not enough words to express how shocked and distressed I am at the tragic incident that took the lives of Galina Hutchins, wife, mother and our colleague, whom we deeply admired. I fully cooperate with the police in their investigation to establish how it happened. this tragedy. “

He noted that he was ready to support Hutchins’ wife and her entire family, having already contacted the relatives of the deceased:

“My heart grieves for her husband, son and everyone who knew and loved Galina.”

Baldwin fired a weapon that allegedly contained real cartridges, while after the tragedy, the shocked actor allegedly continued to repeat:

“Why was I given a full pistol (hot pistol)?”

A spokesman for the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office said it was established that Alec Baldwin had fired the shot, and the gun that killed the director of photography contained a unique, real bullet. Film director Joel Sousa was shot in the collarbone. However, no charges have been filed against the actor yet, APE-MPE reports. Local IATSE Variety and IndieWire said in a statement:

“The real bullet was accidentally fired by the protagonist, hitting director (our) member Galina Hutchins and director Joel Sousa.”

The police are in no hurry to provide full information, limiting themselves to brief comments. Therefore, it remains unclear how it happened that the prop weapon was loaded with conventional bullets. The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office said it was an accidental murder committed by the film’s producer and actor, 68-year-old Alec Baldwin. No charges have been filed in connection with the incident, and no one has been arrested.
