Tremors with a power of 6.1 on the Richter scale shook Karpathos (Κάρπαθο).
According to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, the epicenter of the earthquake was 156 km southeast of Karpathos. Its source depth was 66.3 km.
