On Sunday, at the Tumba stadium in Thessaloniki, the local PAOK will host Volos as part of the sixth round of the Greek Football Super League.
In this duel, the teams occupying the first and second lines of the championship standings will converge. BC Zenit (here you can find out how to download the bookmaker’s app) considers the hosts to be the clear favorites of the meeting and gives a 1.35 odds for their victory. The triumph of “Volos” is estimated with a coefficient of 8.70 (less than 12% of the probability), and for a draw they give a coefficient of 4.70.
Last season, Volos made the playoffs for retaining their Superleague registration and took first place there with 43 points. PAOK, in turn, became the silver medalist of the Greek championship in the 2020/21 season, losing 26 points to Olympiacos.
Before the start of the 6th round, both teams won 4 victories each, gaining 1 point more than the reigning champion. The club from Thessaloniki suffered its first defeat this season in the first round against Yannina (0: 1), after which it has never lost points, including a victory over AEK (2: 0).
The team from Volos won all four victories over weaker rivals, in the first serious test against Panathinaikos the wards of the Spanish coach Guillermo Abascal were defeated (1: 5). It is not surprising that bookmakers give such a high probability of defeat for guests in a match with a favorite.
Last season, PAOK won a landslide victory at home (3: 1), and the match in Volos ended in a goalless draw.
The fight at the Tumba stadium will begin on October 17 at 16:00.
