The legendary yacht Christina by Aristotle Onassis, whose rent costs an astronomical sum, anchored in Mykonos.
The yacht, 99 meters long and 11 meters wide, which has hosted all the VIPs of the 20th century, from Winston Churchill and Marilyn Monroe to Frank Sinatra and Maria Callas, has been completely remodeled and is now available for rent. A week-long cruise will cost those wishing to ride it “with a breeze” only 850,000 euros, according to mykonoslive.tv.
Cristina, on whose decks dozens of distinguished personalities have rested, has now been transformed into a modern luxury vessel that retains the charm of the past.
The ship passed into the hands of Aristotle Onassis in 1954, who turned it into the most luxurious private yacht of the time.
After his death in 1975, Christina was abandoned. A friend of the Onassis family, after years of restoring the legendary yacht, completed her restoration in 2001.
Now all those who can afford it can rent the legendary boat to enjoy luxurious rooms and VIP-class services.
The Christina O was designed in the early 1950s by Caesar Pinnau and stands out from other superyachts on the charter market today.
The most impressive main deck is where the Onassis pool is located, which is decorated with mosaics depicting the mythical Minotaur.
On the main deck is the Aris Bar, which has an original rope-covered bar and whale stools. There is also a majestic atrium with an impressive mosaic – with the Onassis logo in the capital Ω.
The Maria Callas living room with a piano and portraits of the Greek opera diva, as well as the Winston Churchill library with luxurious sofas, armchairs and a bust of an English politician, stand apart.
The floors of the interiors are paved with marble, and on the walls you can see the original works of Renoir, Capuzzo, Warhol.
A spiral staircase with gilded railings connects the Onassis apartment with 18 cabins located on the ground floor and named after the Greek islands.
Today, 78 years after its construction, “Christina O”, as the name suggests, is one of the 50 largest yachts in the world. It can accommodate 34 people in 18 cabins and 42 crew members.
According to yachtcharterfleet.com, Christina O is rented for € 560,000 per week in the summer and € 700,000 in the winter.
