ISIS member arrested in Athens

The 34-year-old Iraqi father of four was arrested by the Counter Terrorism Service (DAEEB) on Monday afternoon on charges of involvement with the terrorist organization ISIS.

It is reported that after receiving information from colleagues at the CIA and in collaboration with the National Intelligence Service (EYP), a former ISIS member was found in the center of Athens and arrested. On Tuesday morning he will be brought before the Athens prosecutor of first instance.

The 34-year-old is the father of four children. Information to the Greek authorities came not so long ago from foreign services, and immediately began a search for him.

As it turned out, the man arrived in Greece in 2018 on the traditional route from Turkey through the island of Lesvos and applied for political asylum. However, on two occasions his application was rejected and the man filed an appeal, which is still pending. Videos of ISIS activities in 2014 were found on his mobile phone.

It is worth noting that over the past 3 years, the Iraqi did not waste time in vain and had 4 children, and, together with his compatriots, significantly improved the demographic situation in Greece.
