To obtain a health certificate, you no longer need to spend time visiting a doctor – the Greek authorities suggest doing this online.
The new digital healthcare service is sure to appeal to those looking to sign up for a gym or pool – they require a health certificate, and bureaucratic delays previously took a lot of time.
The service is offered by the online platform of the social insurance company IDIKA, and four officials presented the innovation at once: head of IDIKA Niki Tsuma, Minister of Health Thanos Pleuris, Minister of Digital Governance Kiryakos Pirrakakis and Deputy Minister of Digital Governance Yorgos Yorgantas, AMNA reports. They told how it would work.
The certificate is issued automatically in the MyHealth application or can be sent to the applicant’s e-mail in PDF format, or SMS in the form of a barcode. Its validity can be easily verified at myhealth.gov.gr/verify. Once issued, the certificate remains valid for 12 months.
